Our girls' weekend kicked off at The Secret Sandwich Society, and let me tell you, it was the perfect start! We walked in and were greeted with smiles and no wait--talk about a warm welcome! The lovely ladies at the front seated us faster than we could say "sandwiches." Once we were settled in, I made a quick pit stop to the restroom, which is a single-stall setup for both men and women. It was clean and tidy--always a plus when you're out and about! Now, let's talk about our waitress--she was an absolute gem! She chatted with us like we were long-lost friends and explained the menu items with the kind of enthusiasm that made our mouths water. I opted for the 'Rose Marie', a glorious concoction featuring turkey, rosemary mayo, provolone, marinated roasted red peppers, lettuce, and tomato, all nestled between buttery toasted sourdough. It was sandwich perfection! Normally, I'm not one to take leftovers home, but this time I just knew I'd be dreaming of that sandwich later, so I did. Now, the chips on the side? Let's just say they were a bit of a letdown--more "meh" than "wow." But hey, nobody's perfect, right? In summary, The Secret Sandwich Society is a delightful spot that I'd happily return to! With friendly staff and a sandwich that stole my heart (and my leftovers), it's a must-visit for anyone craving a quick tasty treat. I'm already planning my next trip--because who needs a secret when you've got a sandwich this good?

This is a place I will never forget - and always recommend to people when they come to visit Richmond based on both taste and creativity - I can say plenty about the food - but what I really want to harp on here is the theme. Reading through the menu just made you smile - all the historical references and sandwich names that each gave off their own unique flare. As cheesy as it sounds, as I read each one I began to wonder if each sandwich was a representation of each of the referenced person(s) personality in some way which just made the overall experience of eating here so much more fun. Service was reliable and quick. Plenty of food for the price that you pay. I'll most definitely be back plenty more times in the future to try some of the others but lemme tell you The Truman SLAPPED and the housemade chips were the cherry on top.

The food was great, but the dips were next level. We tried the green goddess, ranch, and french onion. The chicken was well spiced and so juicy. The sandwich was sooo good and blue cheese didn't over power. everything worked together. The salad was a caesar salad but it was good and fresh. BUT the chips were ice cold. The ambience was good for a casual lunch but the music at 12 pm was so loud we couldn't hold conversation. The service was super fast.

This hip spot has good vibes I describe as a hop and a skip. Though packed on a Friday afternoon, the server seated us promptly and handled our service efficiently. I ordered the Van Buren, a type of Reuben with thousand island dressing and pastrami. The bread was fluffy and toasted just right, and the warm meat hit the spot. My friend and I enjoyed tasty cocktails. I think this restaurant meets the hype and is a must when visiting Richmond with buddies.

This is a cute intimate sandwich shop with a full bar and close seating. Ambiance was inviting and open. Service was quick and friendly. We had a pastrami sandwich and a burger with ribs as an appetizer. All were tasty and left us feeling mighty full. The DE Blackberry cider was delicious. All in all great little spot downtown by the theater. I'll return to try other items.

Nice ambience and theme. Came in a little before closing on Saturday night and they were accommodating of our large group. Got the Hoover Sandwich (Fried Chicken and Honey Butter) and upgraded to the Parmesan Truffle Fries ($2.50). The menu also had no prices, which was a little odd. The flavors weren't the best, but that might just be my preference, others like the sandwiches they got. The sandwich could've been more seasoned and the honey butter more prominent to contrast, and the fries definitely could've used more seasoning too.
